• I normally don't buy books. My kids and I are avid library-goers. But, once in a blue moon, there is book that we borrow from the library that is so impressive that I buy it to always have around and to support the author. Bad Kitty Makes Comics is just such a book. Not only is the book humorous, the author skillfully shows the reader how to make comics in such a simple yet compelling way, that when I was done reading the book with my kids, I wanted to make some comics too! My son took a Comic Book Design Camp over the summer at our local community center and he said he learned more from this book than from the week long, half-day camp.
• I've always been interested in comic books and graphic novels, and can't help but think that if I only had this awesome Bad Kitty book as a kid, I would be a famous comic book artist today! Okay, maybe I wouldn't be famous, but I would have been less afraid of trying it on my own. I also wish Nick Bruel had published this book when my kids were little (instead of being 17 and 19 year olds); they would have loved this as much as I do. This book is both fun and functional; can't say that about too many books!
• My kids love drawing with and drawing bad kitty! Such a fun time. We save the book and just use paper instead and bad kitty makes comics is set up to do just that. We love these books so much and this was no exception. =) PS I highly recommend going to any of the author's signings or readings. He is AMAZING!
• I don't know what's better, the dialogue and commentary or the illustrations and stories. Great series, my son loves these!
• My daughter loves all the Bad Kitty books. They are extremely cute, and helping her to read better. She reads very well, but I have to find something that interests her, in order to get her to read it.
